UNGSII Foundation presents the 11th SDG Lab
The Sustainable Development Goals are a $12-trillion market with a 2030 deadline. In Davos, government leaders, captains of industry, scholars and the next generation meet the projects in one room.

The thesis
Whether the Planet Is in Peril Is No Longer the Question.
The Solutions Still Have to Be Invented, Built and Financed.
The SDGs Represent Both Risk and an Opportunity.
The numbers
in new market opportunities a year by 2030 from delivering the goals in just four systems: food and agriculture, cities, energy and materials, and health. Up to 380 million jobs.
Business & Sustainable Development Commission, “Better Business, Better World”, launched at Davos 2017a year in SDG investment that developing countries need and are not yet receiving. That gap is unmet demand, waiting for bankable projects and capital willing to move first.
UNCTAD, World Investment Report 2023of more than 100,000 people, each a buyer of water, transport, housing, energy and data. The magenta points are the 80 cities in 20 countries piloting SDG City Certification, the standard that makes their projects bankable.
The SDG Lab puts government leaders, captains of industry, researchers and the mayors who sign the contracts at one table, with the metrics that turn a project into a deal.
In 2015, 193 heads of state committed to 17 goals with a deadline of December 2030. That commitment is a purchase order: clean energy, water, food, housing, health, transport and data, on every continent, on a clock.
Each January the people who sign those orders pass through Davos. Four Januaries remain. Those in the room early, in government, industry and academia, set the terms.
From globalisation to SDG 17.Win-win instead of win-lose.
While the Forum debates the state of the world, the Lab works on a short list of deals that can actually be done.
Every session starts from a real project: a water system, a housing plan, a clean-energy grid, a certification pilot. The people who run it present it. The people who can fund, build or scale it respond. Sessions end with named next steps, not a communiqué.
The SDG Lab is a multi-stakeholder initiative of the UNGSII Foundation, founded in 2016 to track how the goals are really being delivered. 2027 is its eleventh edition in Davos.
A rich engine room of experts on radical city solutions.
Where global agendas are born
Each January, Davos becomes the epicenter of global direction. The World Economic Forum sets the tone for the year ahead, shaping narratives that ripple through governments, boardrooms and markets.
“Many find it challenging to ensure that their message catches the attention of attendees.”
In Davos, visibility is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of architecture.
For 30 years, Media Tenor International has been part of the team that crafts this global focus. In 2027, the SDG Lab invites you into a curated environment designed to put your initiative in front of the capital and the press that move it.
The SDG Lab is not a conference. It is a precision-engineered influence platform.
Every detail, from the format to the guest list, is co-crafted with your team for elegance, intention and strategic resonance.

A Davos table reaches 40 leaders. Media Tenor carries what is said there to the media, ministries and investors who were not in the room.
Founded and led by Roland Schatz, Media Tenor International has analysed for 30 years which messages from Davos are taken up by the world’s leading media. That intelligence is built into every SDG Lab format, so presence at the table turns into coverage beyond it.
Which messages reached which outlets, in what tone, and against which competitors.
Early warning on the topics and narratives that shape how leaders, brands and institutions are judged.
Keeping the SDGs, and the voices behind them, on the international agenda year after year.
Journalists are briefed on your solution and selected for pre-Davos reporting.
Media relations for your session on site, with input-output analysis of how your message is taken up.
Follow-up reporting with the same journalists, so the proof gets seen, not just presented.
For lighthouse projects: journalists briefed on your solution before Davos, media relations for your session on site, and follow-up reporting after, so the proof gets seen, not just presented.
For hosts and partners: a breakfast, luncheon or dinner brings the right people into the room. Media Tenor’s input-output analysis and journalist network carry your message and your name to the audiences that were not in it.

The work
Each track turns a goal into an investable pipeline: a standard, a buyer, the capital, and proof that it works.
Standards
Criteria mandated through UN-Habitat’s General Assembly, piloted in 80 cities across 20 countries. A global standard that tells a lender a city project is sound.
Buyers
Twenty-five cities and five indigenous communities on every continent, sharing what works so the next 9,900 cities buy proven solutions instead of starting from zero.
Capital
Building on UNGSII’s SCR500 record that SDG-aligned portfolios can compete on returns, and turning that evidence into bankable city deals.
Technology
Verifying results on the ground faster and cheaper, so performance, not paperwork, unlocks the next tranche of funding.
Every track ends on the same question.
Programme

Each event is designed to feel exclusive, refined and aligned with your goals.
The World Economic Forum sets the agenda for the twelve months that follow. The hard part is reaching the people in the room, and the far larger audience following from outside. Will they choose your study, your technology or your interview to share with the world?
SDG Lab sessions are orchestrated so you bring the right world leaders and investors to your event, Sunday to Thursday, in the spirit of Davos. Invite from your own network, choose your setting, and design it with our team, with Media Tenor media relations before, during and after.
A dynamic, high-visibility format, ideal for launching a report or initiative.
Each includes editing and printing of your report, full catering, and participation for up to 5 team members.
A refined, relaxed setting for organic high-level networking.
An intimate setting for strategic dialogue with select leaders.
A centerpiece event designed for maximum visibility and media pull.
A private, invitation-only evening for top-tier decision-makers, crafted for depth, trust and influence.
